You may think your business can get away with a regular auto-owners’ policy. Or maybe your business insurance policy will protect you if you or one of your employees is in a crash. Unfortunately, that isn’t true.
You need a specialized business auto insurance policy designed to meet your unique needs and protect your assets.
With commercial car insurance, you’ll usually get higher liability coverage than with a standard auto policy. This reflects the higher level of assets at risk for a business. You also can find collision insurance, which pays out for damage to your commercial car or truck regardless of who caused the collision. This protection often is required if you lease or finance commercial vehicles.
And, if your staff uses their own vehicles for work purposes, you may want to consider purchasing employers non-owned car liability coverage. This is an add-on or separate policy that covers those times when your staff use their personal vehicles. It can reduce the risk of any legal complications if they’re injured or their vehicle is damaged in an accident.
Don’t leave your business auto coverage up to chance.
